Coatable coats
Funny how sometimes pages and pages full of words and sentences fail to impart even a single message while sometimes a few beautifully strategically placed words can change the entire essence of a person. I have always been a big fan of learning the golden words whenever and wherever I could. It has been a beautiful journey and as I rewind my life, I can always see myself in search of this treasure consciously and unconsciously.
In the school library on the wall, handwritten were those words on a chart paper "experience is the worst teacher. It gives you test before teaching the lesson" that I have never been able to forget all these years. I can then see a glimpse of myself absorbed in the yellow coloured book "Student's Companion" trying to learn the two pages on proverbs out of the desire to learn big lessons in life in little words. From then on, language wasn't a barrier and I would enjoy myself sometimes occupied with Sunday Jang newspaper/magazines for "bikhrey motee" [pearls of wisdom] and sometimes with Reader's digest for "Quotable quotes".
Life took a U-turn when I went for Umrah a few years back where I happened to read a very beautiful verse in the Quran, (Surah azzariaat) "And I(Allah) have not created jinn and men except that they should worship me" along with many other incidences which made me realize my raison d'être or simply reason of existence. The seed of Islam that was always there found a fertile soil from where to grow this love.
And since then, I am on this path of nurturing my soul and remembering Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala through acquiring knowledge and learning words of wisdom. My sources to acquire this knowledge and these words may be are limited but my desire to share these words with you is limitless.
What inspires me may also inspire you...
“Your Qalb (heart) cannot be compartmentalized. You cannot dedicate one piece of it to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and another to some other god, like wealth, status, career, spouse and so on. Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala is One, Indivisible and wants the human being to be undivided in service to Him... ”- Ustaad Khurram Murad
"Be like a tall tree that aims high; when a stone is thrown at it, it simply lets its fruits drop" -Dr Aid al Qarni
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The one who does bad deeds then does good deeds is like a man who wears a tight coat of mail which almost chokes him; when he does a good deed, it becomes a little looser, and as he does more good deeds it becomes...even looser, until it falls off him and drops to the ground." My favorite quote .......

Apne Alfaaz ki hifazat karo kyon ke ye tumhare Aamal ban jaate hain.
Apne Aamal ki hifazat karo kyon ke yeh tumhare kirdar ban jaate hain.
Aur Apne kirdar ki hifazat karo kyon ke tumhara kirdar tumhari pehchan ban
