favours
God has made us one of His best creations. If we look around us, there are so many beautiful wonderful things created by God, but truly, we have been blessed by being made the best.
If we look at the human body, it is one of the most complicated systems. when I was in primary school, each student had to go to assembly and say an astonishing fact. When I had my turn, my teacher asked me to tell everyone that, Laid end to end, the blood vessels in an average human body can stretch 2 times around the earth.
I still remember it and I still remember how amazed I got after knowin this fact. Today Science has discovered so many intricate and complex systems within the human body and there are still billions of astonishing facts waiting to be discovered. Just a while back, I was listening to Zakir Naik, and he was telling how we are designed to eat both vegetables and meat. He said that cows etc have been given a set of flat teeth which means they can eat only plants. Lions etc can have been given a set of carnivorous teeth which means they can eat flesh and meat only. Humans on the other hand have been given a set of both pointed teeth and flat teeth so as being able to eat both. Even our digestive system, with large and small intestine is designed to digest both plants and animals. We have thus, been blessed by a superior form by Allah SWT
last semester, my teacher, Dr. Mahnaz Fatima, gave us a copy of NAhj-ul-Balagah and I was truly amazed at one of the sermon's of Hazrat Ali on creation of Hazrat Adam by Allah. Following is an excerpt from it
This just strengthened my belief that man is not a product of any evolution from apes, as different historians claim. Man was created in his superior form, which again is a favour upon us by Allah SWT.
A few days ago, we had a guest speaker session at IBA by Dr A.W.Qureshi on philosophy. One of the things he said was that: "Stone has existence, but no consciousness. Birds have existence and consciousness but no moral choice. Man, on the other hand has existence, consciouness and moral choice." then someone asked that how come we know that birds have no moral choice. So then he answered " Birds are bound by their intrinsic nature to feed their small. They simply cannot do otherwise. Man can choose to feed. He has been given the choice to kill or not to kill. Birds and animals do not have that choice" The point being that once again, we have been favoured by God by having that element of choice.
One more thing Dr. A.W Qureshi said was while explaining about the verse in Quran regarding Allah. "Nothing is like Him..." He said that we can only know the unknown through the known, therefore, Allah in the next part of the verse says "... and He hears and sees all things." (Ash-Shura: 11)
Thus, even when we try to imagine Allah, we can only think of the human form (which is our limitation) but this is the best form even our minds could think of.
It is definitely about time we realize why have we been so much favoured and what do we have to do with all these favours. After all, nothing is created without a purpose.

Allah collected from hard, soft, sweet and sour earth, clay which He dripped in water till it got pure, and kneaded it with moisture till it became gluey. From it He carved an image with curves, joints, limbs and segments. He solidified it till it dried up for a fixed time and a known duration. Then He blew into it out of His Spirit whereupon it took the pattern of a human being with mind that governs him, intelligence which he makes use of, limbs that serve him, organs that change his position, sagacity that differentiates between truth and untruth, tastes and smells, colours and species. He is a mixture of clays of different colours, cohesive materials, divergent contradictories and differing properties like heat, cold, softness and hardness.
This just strengthened my belief that man is not a product of any evolution from apes, as different historians claim. Man was created in his superior form, which again is a favour upon us by Allah SWT.
